Talbot County Public Schools
ShoreRivers has partnered with Talbot County Public Schools for over 5 years, and works with both elementary and high schoolers in the county to investigate our watersheds and complete MWEE credits. This partnership and these programs include providing Professional Development trainings, giving curriculum and material support, creating and conducting in-class lessons, facilitating field trips, and more, as can be seen in other objectives of this application.
Dorchester County Public Schools
ShoreRivers has partnered with Dorchester County Public Schools for nearly 5 years and, as in Talbot County, we work with both elementary schoolers and high school biology students to help them explore the Choptank watershed, understand their impact on the water, and complete their MWEE requirements. This partnership and these programs include providing Professional Development trainings, giving curriculum and material support, creating and conducting in-class lessons, facilitating field trips, and more.
Dr. Paula Turner, the Science Supervisor for Dorchester County Public School in 2019, wrote the below in her letter of support for our NOAA Sturgeon Discovery grant application: "ShoreRivers has already demonstrated their commitment to Dorchester County, for it is through our [DCPS] partnership with them that we have a sustainable district wide MWEE in place at the high school level."

Horn Point Laboratory, University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science
The success of the ShoreRivers education program is due, in part, to our strong working partnership with UMCES Horn Point Laboratory. The partnership began during ShoreRivers's time as the Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy and has stayed strong for 7 years. We have facilitated field trips for nearly 10,000 students in this time, and that number is growing every year as we expand our programs and school partnerships.
