Our Top Five
1. Our Educational Programs reach over 2,500 students in Talbot, Dorchester, Queen Anne's, and Kent Counties, and we facilitate the completion of Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience (MWEE) credits for these students.
2. We have received near $12 million in grants from organizations such as the Chesapeake Bay Trust, NOAA, and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, funding education, restoration, and community outreach projects across 5 counties in the past 5 years.
3. Our River Report Card and State of the Rivers Events bring together communities across our watersheds and create a safe space to communicate and discuss the health of our rivers, reaching over 3,000 community members.
4. Our pumpout boat on the Miles and Wye Rivers has prevented approximately 53,300 gallons of concentrated marine waste from entering our waterways at no cost to boaters since 2016.
5. We run a seasonal bacteria monitoring program and update our sampling points on the Swim Guide website and app to ensure our community can share safety and preserve their health.
